Prof. Wojciech W. GASPARSKI
Wojciech W. GASPARSKI, Professor of Humanities, Dr. Sc., Director and founder of the Business Ethics Centre (a joint unit of Kozminski University & Polish Academy of Sciences Institute of Philosophy and Sociology). Immediate past vice rector for research of the Kozminski University. Professor emeritus of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) where he chaired the Academic Board and headed the Department of Praxiology as well as the Research Group for Ethics in Business and the Economy. His publications on human action theory (praxiology), business ethics, methodology, science studies, and systems theory. are numerous. He is a member of the Warsaw Learned Society, Learned Society of Praxiology (Founder and Honorary President), Polish Philosophical Society, International Society of Business, Economics and Ethics, Academy of Management (USA), Science Studies Committee PAS (Honorary Member), Management Science Committee PAS. Editor-in-chief of Praxiology: The International Annual of Practical Philosophy and Methodology (Transaction Publishers, USA) within which he co-edited the following books: Human Action in Business: Praxiological and Ethical Dimensions (1996), Business Students Focus on Ethics (2000), Ethics and the Future of Capitalism (2002). He published in 2007 Lectures in Business Ethics: The New Enlarged Edition (in Polish) and Praxiology and the Philosophy of Technology (with Timo Airaksinen of Helsinki University; in English), he also published Responsible Management Education (2008). He is a holder of the Officer Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order (2000). In 2006 he was nominated to the European Faculty Pioneer Award for Business in Society by Aspen Foundation (USA) and the European Academy of Business in Society. He was awarded The Tadeusz Kotarbinski Medal by the Polish Academy of Sciences for his achievements in management science (2008).
